Care Van Offers Free Immunizations for Forney Children

The Care Van, offered by The Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, will be offering free immunizations in Forney on August 11, 2009.

According to the Foundation, one in four children living in Texas go without the necessary immunizations to lead healthy, happy lives due to a lack of affordability and access to medical care. The Care Van Program reaches out to Texas communities offering free childhood immunizations. To date the Care Van has provided over 625,000 free immunizations.

The immunizations will be offered at the First United Methodist Church of Forney (located on Broad Street) from 5-6:30pm. No appointment is necessary. A parent or guardian must be present. All required immunizations will be available for newborns through children 18 years of age. Please visit the Care Van website for more details.

The program is coordinated through the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, Inc., and with thanks to lead sponsor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.
