Forney school trustees held a special meeting Monday night, August 10, with all trustees present.
Board president David Walker called the meeting to order at 6:02 p. m. Trustee John L. Taylor gave the invocation. The pledges to the U. S. and Texas flags were led by the group.
The first item of business was to hold an executive session to discuss the employment of professional contract personnel. The closed session began at 6:04 p. m. and ended at 6:18.
After the board returned to open session, Dr. Taylor moved to employ professional contract personnel as recommended. Trustee Greg Pharris seconded. All trustees voted in favor.
Whitney Horton was employed at Warren Middle School as a teacher in broadcast journalism.
The board conducted a team-building workshop under the direction of Dr. Jenny Preston. Each member of the board received three hours in educational board credit.
