Burglary Spree Comes to an End

A rash of burglaries that has spanned the last several months has been resolved. On October 23, 2009 Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes investigators received a call from the Terrell Police Department, stating they were in pursuit of a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle driven by a suspect reported to be involved in numerous burglaries in the northeast part of Kaufman County.
Apprehended was Ronald Chase Jr. age 42, of Terrell, Texas. Mr. Chase was charged at that time with evading and resisting arrest and was transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center. After further questioning of Mr. Chase by Kaufman County Property Crimes investigators, Mr. Chase admitted to eleven different burglaries.
An estimated $25,500.00 in stolen property has been recovered and the rightful owners have all been contacted. Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the witnesses for the valuable information that was provided, and the Terrell Police Department for their unending cooperation and collaboration.
Mr. Chase is currently being held in the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center with bond set at $321,500.00.
