Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted any news; I’ve actually been in the process of completing my move to Forney, so things have been busy. However, as many of you may have heard, there’s been an official announcement - Forney is getting a hospital! The Dallas Business Journal ran a story on September 15th about Cirrus Health bringing a 63 bed hospital to Forney.

According to the article, Forney’s rapid growth has created a clear need for additional doctors as well as a full service hospital. Cirrus is hoping to finalze plans by November, begin construction by early 2007 and finish up within 15 months - meaning that by Summer 2008, Forney could have a hospital.

Demand for additional facilities and infrastructure such as a hospital has become so apparent that, according to the article, three different companies have expressed interest in developing a hospital in Forney.

The hospital would provide both in-patient and out-patient services, as well as an emergency room.

If you’re like me and have never heard of Cirrus before, check out their website, it’s impressive. They’re headquartered in Trophy Club, and list ten current facilities on their website; they seem to specialize in ‘upscale’ areas - their existing facilities are in areas like Trophy Club; Beverly Hills, California; McKinney and more.

That’s all for now, but I did update the ‘Stores Open & Opening in Forney‘ page - no new stores or shops, but I did confirm a few things, such as the fact that a Cold Stone Creamery - a wonderful, delicious, ice cream shop - will be opening in the new shopping center that’s being built near the Sonic.

Hopefiully I’ll have more news on businesses coming to Forney soon, as well as some posts about my transition into life here in beautiful (but dry - we need more rain!) Forney, Texas.
