Double Dave’s Pizzaworks Grand Opening - Tuesday 7/10
Double Dave’s will be opening tomorrow, Tuesday, July 10th, with the grand opening celebration beginning at 11AM. They’re located in Shafer Plaza at Mustang Crossing, near FM-548 and Hwy 80. Their phone number is 972-564-DAVE (3283). You can read more about them at their website, but basically they’re a pizza place - most of their locations deliver, they have a pizza buffet (give it a shot - it’s much better pizza than most pizza buffets, in my opinion) and they serve beer. They actually have a unique combination of kid/family-friendly options and adult options - they have big-screen TV’s on the walls that usually feature ESPN. Oh, and try the Peproni Rolls - they’re one of their signature items, and delicious.

Oh so delicious pizza…. I drive from Terrell to the one in Rockwall all the time. Costs my family of 4 a few bucks more than CiCis but the pizza is 4 times better too.
Oh yea, and an adult buffet price includes the first draft…
Mmmmm, Double Daves was good last night. Only problem is that they dont have their alcohol license yet and I think they may only be serving Miller Lite on tap.
Our family of 4 tried it out last night (and we love the one in Rockwall, too). It was $16 for the four of us since kids eat free on Tuesdays with each paying adult. The buffalo chicken pizza was as dazzing as ever, and the staff was very helpful whenever we needed anything. Yay, Double Dave’s!

I wanted to thank the city for accepting us so graciously and I wanted to let every one know that I am very big in to doing as much as I can with the community. On the beer subject we are working on finishing the application process with the TABC we still have about 30 members in our club to go. The only other restaurant thus far to reach out and post a comment on the site or in the discussion forum has been Cooler from Overtime Sports Cafe, so I want to thank Matthew for reaching out to the community, that’s really cool. I’ve eaten at Double Dave’s in Forney once already, and loved it…we actually may go back again tomorrow night.
I got hooked on Double Dave’s back in college, going to a location that since shut down, unfortunately. I was excited to find out there was a location in Rockwall and didn’t mind making the drive up there every once in a while, but I have a feeling that I’ll be eating at Double Dave’s way too often now that you guys have opened in Forney!
Went last night, it was okay pretty much like a Ci Ci’s. Actually I like Ci Ci’s dessert pizza better. We weren’t blown away by any of it. I left underwhelmed.
Ordered 2 pizza’s to go last night. VERY dissappointing.
It was obvious the pepperoni pizza was pieced together from left over buffet items. The circle didn’t match up at all plus on one of the slices you could tell a piece of pepperoni had been taken off, the crust was broke and the cheese was partialy pulled off. Very upsetting to think they would give a customer food like that.
The meatlovers was unevenly covered in toppings. If you could have seen it you would have laughed.
As far as taste it was ok, but I agree, definitely like Ci Ci’s or a cheap frozen pizza from the grocery store. Definitely overpriced for the quality.
