Last Day to Register to Vote

Today, Tuesday, October 9th, is the last day to register to vote and still be able to vote in the November election. If you have moved to Forney from another county, you must register in Kaufman County in order to be able to vote here.

If you have moved from one address in Kaufman County to another, you may update your address online via the Secretary of State’s website.

If you have never registered to vote, or if you have moved to Forney from another county, you will need to complete an application. The Secretary of State provides a PDF of an ‘informal application’ that you may print out, fill out and mail in. This form is available on their website, on the “Request for Voter Registration Application” page.

According to the state’s website, after completing the informal application, you should place it in an envelope addressed to:

Tax Assessor-Collector
Richard Murphy
P.O. Box 339
Kaufman, TX 75142

For any questions, contact the tax assessor’s office at (972) 932-4331. Please remember that your voter registration must be postmarked today, so print it out and get it to the post office by 5PM!
