Welcome to Twenty Peaceful Minutes (20PM) - a community website for Forney, Texas. In addition to this blog, 20PM is home to the Forney discussion forums, which you may reach by clicking the Forney discussion forum link or going to http://20pm.net/forums; also, considering signing up for email or newsreader (RSS feed) notifications of new posts to the 20PM blog!

Monday, November 5th from 5:30 to 6PM, Forney ISD is holding a groundbreaking ceremony at Forney North High School. The event is open to the community and will occur on the grounds of the future new high school, which will be located off of 548. Take 548 north of Highway 80 past Wal-Mart, the movie theater and the Steve Silver building, continue going north approximately 2 miles until you come to a sign marked “FISD Construction Entrance”; turn right at that point and proceed down the gravel road to arrive at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Major construction is expected to begin February 2008 with completion in August 2009, to open for the 2009-2010 school year, when the current Forney High School is expected to exceed its capacity.

I’ve created this thread in the Forney discussion forums to discuss this event.
