The Amber Alert issued in early November by the Forney Police Department and covered here on Twenty Peaceful Minutes ended in an arrest on Christmas Eve, and the two boys involved were found unharmed near a small village in southeastern Alaska.

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope everyone has a safe, happy holiday with their friends and family. As we approach the new year, 2008 promises to be a big year for Forney, and by extension, for TwentyPeacefulMinutes.com. In addition to the Office Depot and the Arby’s coming to Shafer Plaza there are a number of other retailers looking for locations in Forney and planning announcements in the upcoming months.

There are some big projects in the works to make 20PM an even better site in 2008, so make sure to keep an eye on the Forney discussion forums - I’ll post a sneak peak with more information there before the changes go live on the site.

Fat Dawgs, a new hangout serving hot dogs (check out their MySpace page at myspace.com/fatdawgs for more info) is now open! Their hours are Sunday - Friday: 11:00am - 12:00am and Saturday’s 11:00am - 1:00am. They are open to all ages, but encourage adults only after 9PM. To place a to-go order, call (972) 552-2700.

They’re off of Highway 80, at the Pinson exit, between Pinson and 548, on the eastbound service road. The directions they give on their site are:

As a follow up to an earlier post about Shafer Plaza (the development where Double Dave’s, Cold Stone Creamery and Walgreens, among others, are located), the latest rumors are that the next phase of Shafer Plaza will be underway shortly, and one of the pad sites will go to Arby’s, and one of the junior anchor stores may be Office Depot.
