chynna Memorial for Chynna Zmolik, Forney High School Student, This Wednesday at 1:30PMThe entire Forney community is mourning the sudden loss of Chynna Zmolik, a junior at Forney High School; on Sunday evening, a community gathering to celebrate her life filled the auditorium at Forney High School as friends, loved ones and school administrators shared stories and remembrances of Chynna.

Forney High School continues to honor Chynna’s memory today, as the administrators at FHS have announced that FISD superintendent Dr. Darrell Brown has given FHS permission to dismiss all classes at FHS at 12:30PM on Wednesday so that students and faculty members who wish to attend Chynna’s funeral may do so. In addition, students who plan to attend the funeral will be allowed to wear their funeral attire to school, instead of their standard school uniform. Finally, a sack lunch will be provided for all students on Wednesday to ensure they have an opportunity to make it to the funeral after school is dismissed. Parents of students at Forney High School should reference the letter the school sent home with all FHS students today for more information and details.

Chynna’s obituary, including information about the memorial service, appear below. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Chynna to the SPCA (visit SPCA.org to make a donation, or go straight to the SPCA of Texas donation page).

Community members have been expressing their support for the Zmolik family and sense of sorrow over Chynna’s passing in the Forney discussion forum ever since a fellow FHS student posted the news of Chynna’s passing, and are encouraged to continue sharing thoughts and memories of Chynna.

Click read on, below, to read Chynna’s obituary and information about the memorial service this Wednesday. My prayers go out to the friends and family of Chynna; I cannot imagine what they are going through right now, but I hope that they know the entire Forney community is here to love and support them during this difficult time.

It didn’t hit me until earlier today to finally realize that Chynna is no longer physically with me. I am extremely grateful I’ve had her to help guide me in life. Chynna always had a smile on her face. We’d sit at lunch quoting random movies with Travis and Brook all the time. We would always sing “Time After Time” by Cindy Lauper, and play around in our math class.

Every ounce of me goes out to the Zmolik family. They have always been close to my heart, and they will remain in my prayers.

God, you’re lucky to have something so beautiful and precious there in heaven with you.

I never imagined, that one person could impact as many people as this young girl did, in less than seventeen years time. She brought together the entire Forney community, and made many of us realize, that we are never promised tomorrow. God has a plan for everything, and in my opinion, Chynna got the best end of the deal. She is in heaven right now, in the presence of God, having a blast. Of course we will miss her, for the little time we have left on earth, but we will see her beautiful smile again someday, and it is definately sooner than you think. Life is soo short, and thats what this whole thing has taught me. So live in the moment, and live it for God. As for the family,
I know that nothing anyone could possibly say could take away the pain of losing such a beautiful young girl. She was truly an amazing, life changing person, and I am thankful, just to have met her. My prayers are with all of you, and I am terribly sorry for your loss.

Our prayers to the Zmolik and Pope families…she was truly an angel and we are thankful she touched our lives. She will always be our daughter, Kelly, forever friend. Her life radiated the love of Jesus and her reputation as well. How we wish more young women could have that love of Christ that Chynna showed. I am sure when she met our Savior, Jesus Christ, that He said “Well done, my good and faithful servant” then showed her the mansion He promised to prepare for her.
With much love and prayers,

I didn’t really know Chynna but she has touched so many. Me and one of my good friends had been fighting for a looong time, at the memorial we made up, I never in a million year thought we would be friends again. Chynna made me realize that all you have is today. So live you life to its fullest!

We decided that Chynna is up in heaven right now teaching God how to clog.

To the Zmoliks, Popes, and Doug theres nothing I can say to make the pain go away, but she is with her heavenly father now having a goog ol’ time.

Chynna, You are not forgotton.

Chynna was an amazing person… Everyday she walked into our algebra class, her smile would light up the whole room. Losing Chynna was a life-changing experience and a wake-up call for many. I have learned to stay close with the people you care about the most, because you never know when the last oppurtunity is that you will see them. Sweet little Chynna has changed so many peoples’ lives with her smile, beauty, talent, wisdom, laugh, and love. “Our little angel on earth has now become our little angel up in heaven…’ Never will we forget Chynna Zmolik with the impact she has made on all of us… I LOVE YOU CHYNNA!!

To the Zmolik-Pope family, I am praying for all of you everyday. GOD BLESS YOU!!
