Forney ISD Dedicating Four Schools in Coming Weeks

Forney’s incredible growth & Forney ISD’s pursuit of excellence are on display this month as FISD dedicates not one, not two, but four schools in October. Two are new – Smith Elementary and Rhea Elementary and two are being renamed as FISD now has two middle schools – Brown Middle School and Warren Middle School.

Sunday, October 19th will see the dedication of two schools; at 2PM, Brown Middle School (located in Windmill Farms) and then at 4PM, Rhea Elementary School (near Fox Hollow).

Then, a week later, on Sunday, October 26th, Forney ISD dedicates two more schools – Warren Middle School (near downtown Forney) at 2PM, then at 4PM, Smith Elementary School (in Windmill Farms).

Brown is named in honor of Leon Brown, former FHS teacher and coach. Rhea is named in honor of Nell Rhea, a long time FISD 2nd grade teacher. Warren is named in honor of Linelle Warren, an FHS teacher from 1958 to 1975. Smith is named in honor of Margaret Smith, FHS graduate and former FISD elementary school teacher.

For more information about the dedication ceremonies, contact FISD at 972-564-4055, or visit the newly redesigned and improved Forney ISD website.
