On Sunday, December 14th, Hands to the Heavens and Twenty Peaceful Minutes (20PM) are holding the first-ever 20PM Community Christmas Party! This event will be the first of many 20PM events; in addition to introducing 20PM members to one another, the entire community is invited to attend and get to know many of the 20PM regulars – with over 770 registered users, while you may not realize it, chances are you know someone who’s involved on the site. Read on for more information, and the RSVP form, which is located at the bottom of this page. Information about dropping off donations for the food and blanket drive may be found below, as well.

The event is completely and totally free and open to anyone interested in attending – come have fun, meet your neighbors and vote for Forney’s best Christmas cookies!

While the event is free, in continuing with the theme of bringing the community together in the spirit of the season while also encouraging everyone to help those in need this holiday season, we will are collecting items to benefit local area families in need this Christmas.

We ask that each person attending considers bringing one of the food items Hands to the Heavens is in need of (see list, below) or a new or gently used blanket.

When: Sunday, December 14th, 2008; 2PM-5PM

Where: Family Life Center @ First United Methodist Church, 414 W Broad St, Forney, TX.

Who: Everyone is invited!

What: A relaxed, community-oriented party. Christmas cookies and other light food will be available and the event is designed to allow you to arrive late or leave early if necessary. We will be announcing the winners of the 20PM Community Christmas Light Contest (enter now, if you haven’t already!) as well as the 20PM Community Christmas Cookie Contest.

RSVP: While not required, we would greatly appreciate the favor of your RSVP to allow us to better prepare for the number of people who will be attending the party. If you will be able to attend, please fill out the form below to RSVP.

• Peanut Butter

• Hamburger Helper
• Fruit Juice
• Canned Beans

Dropping off donations: If you are unable to attend the 20PM Community Christmas Party but would like to donate a food item or a new/gently used blanket, please contact me at Josh@TwentyPeacefulMinutes.com and we will make arrangements for your donation. We are working to secure a local drop-off point for your donations, as well.
